Captain Richards directed the Base Hospital No. 30 Orchestra, which collaborated with unit actors to produce plays and musicals. They toured the surrounding area, entertaining other base hospitals and French civilians.

The Women’s Auxiliary of Base Hospital No. 30 supplied the unit with athletic equipment. As the Base Athletic Officer, Captain Fleming organized friendly games with townspeople and nearby base hospitals. Participants and onlookers enjoyed baseball, rugby, basketball, and a swimming and track meet.
