Worker's Defense Committee, 1970 - 1972
The Worker's Defense Committee was a group of SFGH healthcare workers who went on strike in order to achieve "adequate patient care and humane working conditions". The problems they were tackling stemmed from workplace conditions that were based on racist, sexist and elitist workplace norms. Dr. Fine fully supported the Worker's Defense Committee and offered his home as a meeting place for their members and the members of groups who supported them - this is referenced in his FBI file.
